XL Spring Assist Install

This modification makes open and closing
the XL absolutely effortless. BGE did a
wonderful job developing this device.

Here you see the stock pieces of the XL hinge
where the modification gets installed.

The first step is to remove the back 7/16" nuts and install
one end of the spring retainer and re-install the same nuts.

Here you see the spring being installed in the next step.

Now the opposite retainer for the spring.

The second bracket bolted in place.
 

And lastly the view with the dome closed. This
whole installation took less than 10 minutes, and
that includes taking these pictures. What an improvement !!!
